I'm Anita Rice Manigault.  I'm a team of one solopreneur using my knowledge, skills and experience to help make life and businesses better for others.  I consult with people about their challenges and offer solutions to their problems.   I'm also honored to be the parent of a young adult Daughter and the Grandparent of a grade schooler!

As a Project Manager Professional, I like completing projects because there is a definite beginning and a specific end, unlike operations which is always ongoing in support of the organization's mission and purpose.  Without successful projects, an organization would not complete its mission with the correct scope or agreed upon budget and timeframe.

During my corporate career, I led several projects.  I completed several high-level software implementation projects, which advanced my program, saved my company hundreds of thousands of dollars, earned me a few VP accolades and got my manager a promotion.  I was very good at website development, software implementation and paper-to-digital conversion projects.

I worked my way up the corporate ladder from a "human factors engineer" (a creative way to say technical writer) to a supervisor to a program manager who worked directly in the company president's office performing workplace investigations.  I had frequent collaborations with human resources, legal, and executive leadership.  I was responsible for compliance and interpretation of federal regulations and development of procedures for my department.

After leaving the corporate environment, I volunteered at several nonprofit organizations before starting Curious Friend Consulting.  My experience and skill with strategizing and creating project plans, ensuring the budget is met and tasks are completed when due are a benefit to organizations or persons starting a project or a business.  Starting a business is a "daunting task" (borrowed this phrase from another proprietor) and a heck of a project!  There's the business of the service or product you're offering, then there's the business of operating the business (marketing, communications, advertising, financial recordkeeping and accounting...)  This is when having a plan is important.  Projects are more likely to succeed when a structured plan is adhered to.  I have the knowledge and skills to customize a plan for you that will help make your project a success.

How can Curious Friend Consulting help you?

Do you need help solving a problem? Not sure how to proceed with a project because you don't have a documented plan?  Need someone to hold you responsible for "doing what you said you were going to do"?  Have questions about available options?  Perhaps you require facilitation to acquire knowledge.  Need a strategy for improving efficiency, eliminating duplication or financial waste within your organization?  Do you have a product which needs descriptive content or a content update (because you simply don't have the time after you purchased that quick-and-easy website builder)?  You could possibly need a fact-finding report from a neutral party.  Or perhaps you need an independent interpreter for your tech project?  Have you grown weary of having a process that no one seems to adhere to or is ineffective?  Perhaps you can't pinpoint the break in your process? Whatever the situation, not only am I willing to help, but I want to help.

The adage says curiosity killed the cat.  The truth is . . . curiosity solves problems, creates inventions, answers questions, verifies facts and initiates relationships.
